Loading Products
All of Obey’s clothing is rooted in the thinking, design, and art of Shepard Fairey. Its graphics are reminiscent of early DIY punk zines and music posters - the world Fairey grew up in. His first foray into street art came from the now famous Andre the Giant sticker he designed in 1989 while at the Rhode Island School of Design. Obey clothes are also known for their politically-charged messaging that uses a bevy of sarcasm, reverse psychology, and juxtaposition that encourages self-empowerment. Obey’s cuts and materials are inspired by classic military design, work wear, and cultural movements Shepard has either been a part of or has based his art career on. At the end of the day, Obey would be happy to sell you a stylish shirt that reminds you to question the world around you.
